A collection of the very best documentaries made by students of IISER TVM as a part of their humanities course. The documentaries deal with a variety of social issues, with some of them focusing on our own campus or similar institutions and are sure to get the viewers in a contemplative mood.

About the event
Here lies a short description of each of them:
1. Gender and Science tries to capture the essence of the quote ‘Women in STEM’-- three words which have become a battlecry for women trying to achieve greater inclusivity in the natural sciences. In the process, the documentary explores the real yet invisible effects of gender disparity in our own campus.
Team members: Ashutosh Kumar, Phalguni Anurag, Krishna Kumar, Nikhil Biju, Adithya Jayaraman, Vikash Rishi Dharan, Jithesh Pavan D’ Souza.
2. From Soil to Stars explores the three centuries of legacy of space research in Trivandrum by looking into three institutions- Travancore Observatory, Vikram Sarabhai Space Centre and the Indian Institute of Science.
Team members: Aswathi K, Niharika PV, Deepthi Damodaran Nambiar, Pratheek Malol, Rishica Harish Arora, Shreya Prabhu.
3. Engender talks about the impact of the policies released by the Social Justice Department (JSD) concerning the transgender and queer community. The documentary features members of the community who have shared their experiences regarding the said policies and gives us a glimpse into their fight for social equality.

4. A study on inclusive development for the differently abled explores the economic situation of the differently abled individuals and how different institutions fare in bringing economic equality for them.

5. Analysis of Indian funding on science is based on the statistical survey conducted by the creators of the documentary where they have analyzed the efficiency of distribution of monetary support provided by the Indian government in research and development.
